RACHEL ADKINS , MASTERS LEVEL INTERN

Rachel (she/her/hers) is currently a MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Adams State University. She has a BA in Anthropology from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). While growing up she developed a love of learning about different cultures, psychology, and healthcare from her mother, a Registered Nurse. Rachel always enjoyed getting to know people different from herself and learning from their experiences. After graduating from UCCS became a direct care worker for seniors and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in various residential settings. While caring for her clients, she recognized a need for better mental healthcare after the COVID lockdown in 2020 and became interested in expanding her healthcare career to clinical mental health counseling.
